Sky Bet take over as Football League sponsors and Sky Sports buy three years of TV rights

Sky Bet have been announced as the new sponsor for the Football League, replacing npower, and their multi-year deal will begin from the 2013-14 season.

It will now be known as the Sky Bet Football League with the three divisions becoming 'The Sky Bet Championship', 'Sky Bet League One' and 'Sky Bet League Two'.

Sky Sports have signed a seperate agreement for three more years of broadcasting rights, which begins in 2015-16 after the remainder of their current deal is seen out.

Sky Bet's managing director Richard Flint said: 'The sponsorship of the Football League helps us engage with millions of football fans spanning all 72 League clubs.
