In construction, huge projects are not undertaken solely by the general contractor. Normally, special tasks are outsourced to subcontractors who do it more efficiently than the general contractor himself. Metal buildings for example are outsourced to firms with more special tools and expertise to undertake the job faster and more economically. In my place, outsourcing are even divided further into two- suppliers of materials and labor providers.
