Today's Alan Turing Google Doodle Is One of Their Greatest Yet (PHOTOS)

Alan Turing Google DoodleOn what would have been his 100th birthday, today we celebrate all that was Alan Turing -- the British mathematician, codebreaker, and artificial-intelligence pioneer. I may not personally know too much about Turing, but I do know that without the influential technological genius -- the computer as we know it could be much, much different.

In classic form, Google has officially dedicated their search page to Turing today featuring an interactive coded animation with six different numerical puzzles. Holy hardstuff! If you like online gaming and find Sudoku to be a blast, this little gem from Google is on a whole other level. And of course, I wouldn't expect anything less in honor of such a complex man.

Dare I say it, this may be one of Google's most intriguing, best doodles ever. In honor of the awesomeness that is Alan Turing and his doodle, let's take a look at some of 5 of the best interactive Google doodles from years passed:

1. May 21, 2010: 39th Anniversary of PAC-MAN:

A. Mazing. In honor of the game's anniversary, Google designers made the page a functional version of the classic game. Thinking back on it, I don't know ONE person who wasn't sucked into this.

2. February 8, 2011: Jules Verne's 183rd birthday:

Google Jules Verne

In celebration of Verne's classic novel 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, everyone on the Interwebs had the opportunity to take a dive down under. I think I see Nemo in there!

3. June 9, 2011: Les Paul's 96th birthday:

The only thing better than being able to strum a virtual guitar on your computer is seeing the crazy things that other people do when strumming a virtual guitar on theirs. Who knew you could play Lady Gaga with Google? Or Michael Jackson?! Genius. Just Genius.

4. August 6, 2011: Lucille Ball's 100th Birthday:
